Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter Glen Hansard, one half of Swell Season who starred in and wrote/performed the music for the film Once, is donating the proceeds from his stirring song “High Hope” to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which has invested $2 billion to date in ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 50 countries. The song, from Hansard’s debut solo album, Rhythm And Repose, begins with the lines “I’m workin’ on the high hope/And if it all works out, you might just see me /Or hear from me in a while.” Only U.S. sales will benefit the charity, which was selected by NBC. Hansard performed "High Hope" on the TV network's Parenthood on Dec. 4. To purchase the song, go here. — K.B.
