The singer-songwriter released this charity single on iTunes U.S. in September after performing it on the Stand Up To Cancer telecast. The heartfelt ballad is about 4-year-old Ronan Thompson who passed away in 2011 of neuroblastoma, an aggressive cancer of immature neuroblastic cells that commonly affects children age 5 or younger. Swift was a reader of Ronan’s mother’s blog and penned the lyrics largely from her words. Maya Thompson gets a co-writing credit on the song. “Come on baby with me we’re gonna fly away from here / Out of this curtain room and this hospital grey, we’ll just disappear,” Swift sings. All proceeds from the sale of the track on the U.S. iTunes page will be donated to the Taylor Swift Charitable Fund. Canadians can click “change store” to view it in iTunes U.S. — K.B.
