Dee Snider, the menacing lead singer for hair metal band Twisted Sister, has reshaped the band's signature 1984 rebel rock hit "We're Not Gonna Take It" into an intense piano rock ballad, all to help fight childhood cancer.

The new version of the song features an accompanying music video directed by professional magician Criss Angel as part of his ongoing Criss Angel HELP campaign to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and provide funds for research, treatment and potential cures.

The video starts with the messages "every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer" and "cancer is the number one cause of death by disease among children" while Snider can be seen singing in the desert outside Las Vegas accompanied by a pianist. This footage is woven with an alternating series of images showing a mother having her head shaved and footage of a small child receiving care in a hospital.

Enlisting Snider to redo his signature song and directing its video are far from the only things Angel (real name Christopher Sarantakos) has done to battle childhood cancers. While the magician has worked with childhood causes since 2001 and founded the Johnny Crisstopher Children's Charitable Foundation in 2008, he's characterized fighting childhood cancers as his "life's mission" after his 20-month-old son Johnny Crisstopher Sarantakos was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in October 2015. His son, now two, is in remission.

Besides the Snider video, Angel's next big trick will be the Criss Angel HELP! charity event, taking place on Monday, Sept. 12 at the Criss Angel Theater in Las Vegas' Luxor casino. The HELP event (short for Heal Every Life Possible) is promising that "100 per cent of every cent donated will go directly to fund pediatric cancer research." Some of the guests scheduled to perform or appear at the event include a Vegas who's who of Mike Tyson, Carrot Top, Tony Orlando, Wayne Newton, Corey Feldman and Jerry Lewis.
